New life

So, with the birth of Baby Elf, I have decided to try and restart this blog.  I'm hoping to post the little stories that I know my family wants to hear but that I never remember to tell.

Munchkin Girl has been adjusting quite well to having Baby Elf here.  She's become a major Daddy's girl, but she still seems to like me a bit.  Yesterday, she was waling around wearing a badge like Daddy, but today, she's stuffed her shirt with socks (I think they're supposed to be nursing pads) and has been swaddling and dressing her stuffed animals.  She even tried to help my by putting socks on her baby sister.

Baby Elf is now 3 weeks old, and she's been spending more time awake.  Of course, it's usually when Munchkin Girl is asleep, but that could just be a defence mechanism.  Munchkin Girl is rather aggressively friendly.  At her check-up yesterday, Baby Elf was officially 10 lbs, so despite my worries, she seems to be eating enough.  Her second chin should have been a clue, but I tend to worry about things nursing-related.

We've been going outside every day, and the garden and our diets have been benefiting.  The lettuce is overgrown despite our best efforts to eat it, and we finally have some snow peas.  The spinach however, has gone to seed, so I need to get it up and replant this weekend.  We're also hoping to get our corn, beans, pumpkins, peppers and tomatoes in this weekend too.  Our blueberry bush seems to be growing quite well despite Munchkin Girl's not-so-tender care.  That baby has a fascination with that bush that I do not understand.
